Why does any advanced civilisation seek to destroy a less advanced one?
Because the land is strategically valuable, because there are resources
that can be cultivated and exploited, but most of all… simply because
they can.
#G'Kar
Everything in life can be broken down into moments of transition, or moments of revelation. This had the feeling of both. There is a greater darkness than the one we fight; it is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities; it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.

has anyone done this yet
aside from me mucking with brushes these are technically illustrations for breakwater (chapter 33 in which Events finally transpire). I have a pretty cinematic approach to planning out my scenes in general but this one was especially clear in my brain theatre so I thought I’d try rendering it.
when you’re just hanging around and bleeding with the person the universe has decided will orbit your life while you orbit theirs
Felt like painting these two walking disaster areas again, and wanted to get something in before October started. I’ve had such a burning desire for both comfort and buckets of blood and luckily I’m into at least two character pairings that can deliver this. Normally I go heavy on the neck injury with these two also, but today I was chill with echoes of exploding heart and a ripped out eye.
I’m here to let you know that you needed Babylon 5’s Londo and G'Kar drawn like Lisa Frank, because The 90’s. (Even more Lisa Frank than the last time I did something like this two years ago!)
I hope you guys like this as much as I loved doing it~
The art Lisa Frank doesn’t want you to see~~~ haha
I need to buy this shirt again. My old one doesn’t fit anymore and life is kind of sad without it.
Wild Old Art I Found On My HardDrive: Babylon 5 Edition
I suspect multiple editions of everything are due. Worry not.
Here’s some of the stuff from the B5 folder that is just random crack. Luckily, I remember a lot of the context for this stuff!
Londo and G’Kar arrive on Londo’s planet like

And then somoeone misread my post saying Londo shows up with Narns as Londo shows up with nuns, thus:

G’Kar on a stake out under Londo’s chair.

This is Londo holding Odo’s bucket from DS9? I know this only because of the file name. I do not know why.

Sea Pearl Mermaid G’Kar, I think because someone made the fool mistake of mentioning 90s Barbie at the same time as B5 in front of me.

accidentally pocket-sized Londo, as far as I remember. I just drew a weird frowny Londo on iscribble and then the friend being subjected to it thought he looked Small. Pocket was added.

G’Kar with a giant lizard tongue

Londo just needed bread, but G’Kar is jazzed up on All Of The Starbucks and he’s going to go fucking wild in this here Target

the song was ‘Starships’ by Nicki Minaj.

G’Kar eating a Centauri version of one of those always badly formed bubblegum eyeball Popsicle things from an icecream truck that were ubiquitous in the 90s and then of course making a joke about his missing eye after licking a gum ball from the thing’s face and making that unholy smear of colors and sticky horror that resulted
This is all like 2015, haha.
oh my god this is the greatest picture ever taken
