It would be fair to say that that piece of [Chernobyl Power Plant’s] roof is the most dangerous place on earth.

I don’t wanna do this anymore. I want to stop. But I can’t. I don’t think you have a choice anymore than I do. I think despite the stupidity, the lies, and this, you are compelled. The problem has been assigned and you’ll stop at nothing until you find an answer. Because that is who you are.

Aaaaaah, I wanna share a drink with him so badly 😍.
What is the cost of lies? It’s not that we’ll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognise the truth at all. What can we do then? What else is left but to abandon even the hope of truth and content ourselves instead with stories? In these stories, it doesn’t matter who the heroes are. All we want to know is: “Who is to blame?”

A great promo still from the “15,000 Roentgen” scene.
Boris is leading the pack with tiger-like elegance. That coat was a truly great wardrobe decision!
Valery hurrying in the back, trying to keep up with everyone else.
I wonder. It doesn’t seem muddy or anything. Were the boards to keep from tracking sand everywhere?
Boris’ coat is his superhero cape!
@valerafan2 I think so: they probably had to shot the scene and make them go in and out from the tent many times, so, even if it wasn’t muddy, a furrow would form in the sand.
@johnlockismyreligion @valerafan2 I agree that this might have been done to keep their set intact for multiple doubles. But in addition to that, since this is a chemical weapons specialists’ camp, I think this might be a part of their general chemical defense protocol. The planks are easy to sweep or wash to keep them clean from toxic residue from a chemical attack - or in this case of course, radioactive ash, which would prevent it from getting tracked into their tents/cars/etc.
@stellan-pip-69 I was thinking the same thing! 😍
I’ve stumbled upon a video (in Russian) of a guy who has lent 10 of his retro cars, a bus and a “Java” motorcycle to Chernobyl production, and himself drove a bus in two scenes:

The main takeaway is that he is a proud owner of Charkov’s Volga with its distinctively decadent red velvet interiors:
The actual car:

They also filmed this scene in a 30-degree heat - I really feel for both Alan and Jared, but especially Jared, having to wear that turtleneck and that really warm-looking jacket!

Here it is getting set up for filming:

Now we have Charkov’s plates. ^____^ Is it the same as Misha’s car? Btw I didn’t know Jared was wearing prosthetics in that scene. 😲
@elenatria oh, on the photo are the car’s real plates (they are Ukrainian), but for the filming, they changed them to old-style Moscow plates. They were great with detail, as always.
Charkov’s car is quite different from Misha’s - check out the difference in interiors:

Misha’s car has boring grey-brown seats. Charkov’s car interior - seats and the inside of the doors - are lush red velvet, making it look like a “pick-up joint” as @drunkardonjunkyard has pointed out. Definitely adds a curious - and unsettling - note to Charkov’s character.
and if i refuse?
why worry about something that isn’t going to happen?
