Since Back To The Future Part II hit the big screen back in ’89 the whole world has been wondering when we’re getting our own Hoverboards. Seriously, we’ve got drones delivering packages, satellites in space steering unmanned vehicles, we’ve even seen … but still no Hoverboards? Well, guess what, the wait is over because Californian Technology firm Hendo Hover believe they have finally cracked it and are gearing up for release a year from now.

To quote the Hendo Hover website, “The patent-pending Magnetic Field Architecture (MFA™) technology transmits electromagnetic energy more efficiently than previously possible. MFA enables platforms to hover over non-ferrous metals with payloads of any size and any weight.” What does that mean in layman’s terms? Hoverboards, baby!

Backing the most expensive option on Hendo’s Kickstarter, to get your hands on your very own brand-spanking new, gravity defying Hoverboard, will set you back a cool ten thousand dollars – which may mean saving up a fair bit of birthday money if you’re not in the habit of splashing the cash on futuristic gadgets on a weekly basis – but there are plenty more reasonably priced options for anybody excited to be involved, and try the Hendo Hoverboard out, but not quite able to buy one of their own just yet.
