So I already covered Evolution during my Random Trek Rewatch but it is the first episode of Season 3 to be aired (The Ensigns of Command was the first one produced as I recall). So there’s more to cover:

first is the change in lighting on the bridge, from the beige-y tones to the much more dramatic white glare that would stay through the series (Star Trek Generations would go back to Beige):

It make a hell of a difference

The senior staff gets the new uniforms but are, for the next few episodes still fitted as seen above by Riker. Everyone benefits from having the Collar:

Picard looks more commanding now, this is the right fit.

And Data wears the hell out of this mustard.

Oh and notice the panel behind Data, it used to be beige too, now it’s grey:

That is also the most dramatic carpet the series has had at this point (I think throughout the entire series but I’m not sure)
