You know how sometimes when you’re a kid you read the same comic again and again because you’re bored and there’s nothing else and for some elusive reason your child mind chooses to exactly preserve a line of dialogue even though it will never be relevant for anything ever again and so one day you’re 42 years old and you’re on your way to get some lunch and your brain decides to go “Cheer up, Unca Scrooge! It’s not every day you get beaned by the personal jewels of the goddess Athena.”

Does anyone else get that?

I was not seeing or hearing anything remotely related to ducks, Uncle Scrooge, Athena, jewels, or Magica De Spell (who I believe was inflicting the beaning). I think I was thinking about Pokémon.

I was pretty young when I read the Star Trek Comics reboot in 89-90. And I still remember the part with the bounty hunter Sweeney, which at the mere mention of his name everyone would go “NOT SWEENEY!!”

I asked my mom who Sweeney was, figuring he was someone I should know, lmao.

this is sweeney btw
