Btw if you ever do read Gulliver’s Travels please do get the dusty 1967 Penguin edition (or the 1985 reprint of that edition which I’m currently in). The 30 page intro sapped my will to live, and while yes, while Michael Foot is a Jonathan Swift chronicler he was also an MP (Labour) an as such, will not such up, drones on and it took me a week to get through that intro as I would fall asleep every two pages. So I guess it’s good for that.
also some words I guess have come back in vogue since 1967 because some of the annotations are wholly unnecessary. (others are much needed tho for full context of the sature).
It also took me to the end of the Castle in the Sky to realize we were dealing with the same Laputa from Gulliver’s Travels.
