Well, I’m here now, Murph. — No. No parent should have to watch their own child die. I have my kids here for me now. You go. — Where? — Brand.

“Do not go gentle into that good night; Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
INTERSTELLAR (2014) dir. Christopher Nolan
“We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.”
INTERSTELLAR (2014) dir. Christopher Nolan
We’re not meant to save the world. We’re meant to leave it.
Interstellar was released in cinemas 5 years ago today.
We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible.INTERSTELLAR
And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher,
to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known.
We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that.
Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers.
That our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us,
because our destiny lies above us.
Murphy’s Law doesn’t mean that something bad will happen. It means that whatever can happen, will happen.

A few years ago I had a dream that was some kind of True Detective/Interstellar crossover. Rust Cohle and Marty Hart lived on this interstellar worldship in a large mansion. One day Marty found two large human poops under a dining table and became apocalyptically enraged about it—he was ready to track down and kill whoever was responsible.
Rust Cohle caught him by the arms and tried to reason calmly with him. “It’s just a dookie, Marty. It’s not worth killing a man over,” he said.
Marty was not consoled, and continued fo shout and try to break free. “Two dookies, Rust! Two dookies!”
I woke myself up from laughing and think about this dream periodically. Never before had I ever used the word ‘dookie’.
