That image of Julian eating a pretzel is so funny to me because there is absolutely no need for him to sit with his legs like this and munch on this pretzel in the 1,5 seconds he’s visible, looking like he’s living his absolute best life.

Dr. Bashir is a really funny character just because of how the writers seemed to juggle him around like a flaming bowling pin and everything, but one thing I appreciate about him is that Julian is one of the most compassionate characters in DS9.
I was just sitting here thinking about the way he treated Garak and Miles and those Jem'Hadar soldiers and I can't think of any characters that had the same empathy and real genuine care for others like he did.
Like, yeah, he can be a little weird sometimes, and he doesn't always make the right move to make the people around him happy, but the episodes where he helps Garak and Miles when they're struggling and risks his life trying to free the Jem'Hadar..... Those are seared into my brain. No one will ever be Bashir.
Filming this episode, Sid put a very large cucumber down his pants in that outfit. Taped it to his thigh. He expected to get a reaction but no one said or did anything. So he just gave up. 🤣
