I had the flu the day we filmed that, running a fever a little over 100 degrees F. Every time I fell onto those steps, it was like getting shot for real. My whole body just ached, I was throwing up between takes. It was such a rough day.

It doesn’t read on screen, I don’t think, so go 18 year-old me!

When they wheel Joey out and the dean pulls the sheet off him, I was asleep on the gurney. I fell asleep during blocking, and the crew just left me there while they set up the shot and filmed the scene. I can’t think of another time I fell asleep on the set and stayed asleep for around an hour in the middle of the day.

OH! Fun fact: more than once, when LeVar piloted the Enterprise, he fell asleep behind his VISOR in the CONN chair during long scenes where he was on camera but had no dialog. You can’t ever tell (I’ve looked) but I remember the one time he snored so loud during a take we had to cut and start over.
