As Tumblr is reminding us that today is the anniversary of the supposed Roswell UFO crash, I thought I’d celebrate two of the funniest explanations for it.  In Futurama, Fry put a container of Jiffy Pop popcorn into the microwave during a supernova explosion which sends the Planet Express ship hurtling back in time.  And in DS9, Quark is taking Nog to Earth in a ship that was a gift from his cousin.  But the ship was sabotaged and Rom’s effort to save them causes them to end up in 1947.

I see nog’s already taking his academy time-traveling to the 20th century class
