#MEMORIES

continuing thoughts on VHS

I’d usually go to this crappy yet mystical place called Hollywood Video to get those TNG episodes and movies (I don’t even want to think how many VHS movies I had or might still have, either in someone’s attic or someone else’s barn). As a kid/teen I only bought a few of the episodes, Datalore, Conspiracy, Time Squared, Contagion and Yesterday’s Enterprise. And of course TMP, II, III & VI. And this one kid who worked there, I’ll never forget his words, when I was looking for Return of the Jedi in Widescreen on video:

“PFFFT (a very loud derisive snort), Who would want to buy widescreen?!"

Joke’s on you kid. Joke’s on you.

There’s another image floating around from Datalore with Brent and the Body Double/Stand in for the episode, where you can see the stand in’s face. It’s on the back of the Datalore VHS….

…see kids back in the 1990s to early 2000s if you wanted to buy some Star Trek Episodes or TNG episodes, you bought them in single-ep VHS. for….15.99 I think the price was at the time. IIRC it was also released like 1 or 2 episodes a month.
