I thought this ws well played. I mean yes catching the arrow is a tired cliché but Merlyn going through a genuine “oh no” moment when he sees Queen’s face is great.

Although it was kinda obvious it was going to be Barrowman, the reveal that the Dark Archer was Malcolm Merlyn was perfect
