Man Proposes, God Disposes. Inspired by the Landseer painting of the same name; this piece depicts the grisly fate of the crews of the ships The Terror and Erebus; which were two ships sent by Britain to find the Northwest Passage through Canadian sea ice.

The ships became trapped in pack ice and the entire crew of both ships slowly succumbed to starvation, lead poisoning and botulism from improperly canned foods and scurvy. There is evidence of cannibalism in what few recovered remains there were.

A run of signed prints will be available. 8x10, 30$ each, free shipping, pm me.
