Close but not quite the same. I thought Shatner’s tie was a reuse of the tie that Faye Dunaway gifted to Columbo in the last ep (it’s not the shapes are square)
And Dabney Coleman drove a very similar but slightly different Mercedes convertible (different colour, different upholstery, u-bar)
@thecaptainoutoftime I forgot Atlantis did it too, but of course they did, S9/S2 front half both had shortened ones
I was wondering if it was an internal production decision or a syfy one/marketing one and of course, via the stargate wikia:
The Sci Fi Channel chose to cut the opening sequences of both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis to 10-seconds for the original broadcast, rather than the usual 60-seconds. The sequence only displayed the Stargate SG-1 logo and a “Created by” credit, main cast credits were displayed during the teaser. On Sky One in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, the short opening sequence was also used for Part 1, however when Part 2 aired, a full length title sequence was restored, incorporating new cast credits. When “Avalon” aired in US Syndication, the full length title sequence was used.
Betcha it’s the same geniuses that spoiled the “the bomb is the building” in a promo in the same season.
The Bedrosian weapons btw would be repurposed as Wraith stunners in S2 when they phased out the more cumbersome over the shoulder weapons they used to carry
2nd-to-last screen text is fuzzy but this is the best I got:

Contacted Dr. Jackson. He refused to become involved in research. I am disappointed. He may have been our best hope.
So I may as well go to a bar somewhere and have a drink. Egypt is a dry place after all, and I do carry this silly heavy gold pendant around my neck always.
Make it a double, infact.
Ok three.

I’ve stumbled upon a video (in Russian) of a guy who has lent 10 of his retro cars, a bus and a “Java” motorcycle to Chernobyl production, and himself drove a bus in two scenes:
The main takeaway is that he is a proud owner of Charkov’s Volga with its distinctively decadent red velvet interiors:
The actual car:
They also filmed this scene in a 30-degree heat - I really feel for both Alan and Jared, but especially Jared, having to wear that turtleneck and that really warm-looking jacket!
@elenatria oh, on the photo are the car’s real plates (they are Ukrainian), but for the filming, they changed them to old-style Moscow plates. They were great with detail, as always.
Charkov’s car is quite different from Misha’s - check out the difference in interiors:
Misha’s car has boring grey-brown seats. Charkov’s car interior - seats and the inside of the doors - are lush red velvet, making it look like a “pick-up joint” as @drunkardonjunkyard has pointed out. Definitely adds a curious - and unsettling - note to Charkov’s character.
