August 14 2017 - Protesters in Durham, North Carolina decide to take matters into their own hands and take down a confederate statue. 

The statue represented a soldier who fought in the Civil War and an inscription on the front read “The Confederate States of America.” 

One organizer of the protest told WNCN that toppling the statue was in response to the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. this weekend.“It needs to be removed,” organizer Loan Tran told the news station. “These Confederate statues in Durham, in North Carolina, all across the country.” [video]

Mississippi lawmaker Karl Oliver wants to lynch people who take down Confederate monuments

• Mississippi state Rep. Karl Oliver learned of New Orleans’ successful effort to remove Confederate monuments from public spaces, and he wanted to do one thing to the people responsible: lynch them.
  
• “The destruction of these monuments, erected in the loving memory of our family and fellow southern Americans, is both heinous and horrific,” the GOP politician wrote Saturday on his Facebook page.  
  
• According to the Jackson Free Press, Oliver’s message was “liked” by state Republican representatives John Read and Doug McLeod.
• The Facebook post also drew at least one Twitter rebuke from a Democratic member of the state’s House of Representatives. Read more (5/22/17)

THIS HAPPENED RIGHT HERE IN 2017……   Dozens of white supremacists gathered around with literal fucking torches while chanting nazi ideologies as an intimidation tactic… you wanna know the scariest part? they’re not wearing hoods or any other form of “protection”, which means they don’t even care about being exposed anymore…. I’m telling ya’ll white supremacy is one of the biggest threats to america. we cannot allow history to repeat itself by allowing this terrorism to continue
