While I didn’t have this specific Star Trek: Generation set I did have a bunch of these including the Romulan Bird of Prey, The D7, Reliant, the Klingon Bird of Prey, Excelsior, the Vor’Cha class cruiser, the TNG shuttle and two version of the Borg cubes.
Twitter user @_starktrek_ visited the Valley of Fire park recently, where they filmed the Veridian III scenes of Generations, and one of the bridges built for filming is still there repurposed as a trail bridge.
the most unrealistic thing in all of star trek is that beverly and every other senior crew member did not immediately think data pushing her overboard was hilarious and a huge step forward in data understanding and participating in humor appropriate to the moment and instead of geordi saying ‘i’d avoid sickbay for a few days if i were you’ beverly laughed the whole way back up the ladder and told data ‘proud of u baby’ and that is where the tng films branched off into an alternate timeline. i’m right about this.
The TNGs make subtle effects change from the show and movie per movie. Also none of the movies involving the Enterprise-E ever show us that ship’s transporter room.
Generations: The addition of a solid column around the tradition TNG transporter effect.
First Contact & Nemesis: virtually identical to each other with thinner sparkles and columns that are on a colour spectrum rather than uniform blue. The Nemesis one takes a bit longer and looks like they applied an HD filter or something.
Insurrection: The odd duck of the bunch, looks the most TNG-esque while a bit cheaper than the rest.
