yeah I love strapped Apophis’ interaction with everyone. Teal’c, Jack, Sam and Daniel each get a chance to get under his skin and he returns it in kind. 

The introduction of Sokar is….eh. I like the first downfall of Apophis, but he’s the most interesting of all the Goa’uld we’ve met so far. Heru’ur is humourless and snarls a lot, Hathor uses the imperial “We” a lot and Nirrti hasn’t been seen yet, only her actions. Sokar will kind of also fall flat until we meet him face to face in S3 and that’s in large part thanks to David Palffy (who basically comes back as the same character in Anubis later), but the regalia surrounding him is just ridiculous.

There’s a reason why Apophis comes back (and the Goa’uld version of American Idol in S5 that gives us Ba’al)
