I’m reading TNG issue 18 and this is the first time in a while I’m having a problem with characterization. 18 is not one I read before, and it’s not written by (at least at the time) the regular writers (in this case Dave Stern and Mike O'Brien take over for Friedman). It’s set in early season 3 (and by this time Season 4 has started to air but lets assume it was written by the time S3 finished). It’s a Wesley story, and everyone is treating Wes like it’s season 1 again. He’s made a transporter science project based off of Iconian ideas, there’s a power drain and a mystery guest. anyway everyone is interrupting wes and treating him like it’s Datalore or Encounter at Farpoint all over again. Bleh.
