I remember reading, I think it was in The Art of Star Trek, that Nicholas Meyers added these signs on the Bridge saying “humans have been smoking for the last 4 centuries, do you really think they’re gonna stop in the next 2?”

I love James Horner’s theme so much. Jerry Goldsmith’s standard for The Motion Picture (and TNG by extension) is grand and sweeping and operatic but Horner taps more into the adventure spirit and “bucanneer” is a word that comes to mind.
