One thing that we can be thankful about Ang Lee’s Hulk is that it was released just 5 years prior to The Incredible Hulk. And although most people were already familiar with Hulk’s Origin Story, the Ang Lee Hulk was still relatively fresh in the collective consciousness (and a risk of doing another Hulk film after the previous one was middling) and freed them from staying extensively on it (although we’ll turn it on its head later). Bruce Banner is already the Hulk, he’s had his changeover (and hurt people) and we can move the story from there
