Incidentally, this supports my theory that the stuff Starfleet uniform collars are made out of is indestructible. You’ll notice that this earlier model of the uniform features a collar made of the same fabric as the body of the shirt, and as you can see it has been effectively murdered by a silver-eyed dingus called Gary. The black collars would not go down so easily.
