im sorry i can’t get over the bee thing

when antigrav heelys dude started talking about how his genes were spliced with wolf dna i was like “well that’s very unrealistic and kinda deviantart OC-ish but still reasonable for a campy sci fi movie, it’s an excuse to give him cute pointy ears and a suitably angsty backstory, i can go along with this”

but then sean bean is like “I’M PART BEE” in this totally casual sort of way, even though he seems pretty human except for having mildy enhanced speed and strength and inconsistently yellow eyes (what does any of that have to do with being a bee that makes no sense at all) but like it’s no big deal, it’s not really ever brought up again, he’s just this generic grizzled ex-military guy who’s trying to take care of his daughter and his space werewolf buddy

but he is PART BEE

i mean i’m just going to figure that his wings, when he gets them back, are insect-like wings, and that the fact that he is a bee makes him particularly good at flying or something. because otherwise it would seem to be (BEE) a pretty pointless thing to include in someone’s dna. the fact that i’m even coming up with headcanons to explain this is patently ridiculous. how did any of this happen, how did this move come to be. bee. BEEEEEES WHY WERE THERE EVEN BEES IN THIS MOVIE AT ALL
