Any thoughts on the theory that the Changelings are going to recreate Locutus with Picards organic body? I was dismissive at first, but the whole “they stole something more dangerous than the portal weapon” and Shaws line about “Locutus being a Borg so dangerous they gave him a name” has me second guessing. Maybe Terry Matlas played Star Trek Armada?

I played Star Trek Armada and I barely remember any plot at this point (you control ships. distinct feeling of Warcraft II in gameplay).

Locutus seems to be the popular contender at this point, we briefly explored the trauma to Picard in S1 and we’ve been dropping a lot of Shaw-related hints this season, and also retconned a Borg virus for BoBW. I can’t think what else the body would be useful for. Unless the Ressikan Flute holds the key to unlocking The Big Secret….

We’re due a special guest star next ep and it could be the Borg Queen again (the non Agnes version, and this season was filmed back-to-back with s2 so Annie Wersching could still cameo).

I’m racking my brain as to who else would want Picard’s body. Remans? they seemed to be an ongoing concern post-Nemesis. The Vorgons and the Tox Uthat? DaiMon Bok?

I wanna go back to that body, did Picard bury it? Did Soong?? Did Starfleet send in Agents Burke and Hare???

Oh here I’ll give you a theory. The one Vadic’s been communicating with is Armus. his texture is just right for whatever is coming thru vadic’s hand.

(he got tired of the prank calls from Cerritos)

I also imagine that’s what these renegade changelings feel like to the touch now.

I don’t your deal with the bucket, it’s well known Changelings can’t hold their form for too long and need to regenerate, and they probably got the bucket idea from Odo when he was in the Great Link. Also the whole “being able to track Changelings now” thing makes sense considering it’s been 30 years since the end of the Dominion War so Starfleet have had a long time to work on tracking them.

It’s the clunkiest of writing!

Oh here’s our all-powerful enemy from the Dominion War, that be anyone or anything….but they need a bucket. And not just any bucket but the exact same design Odo used! Look at us, we’re clever we watched the show!

Did you, did you really now?

Especially since after Odo’s first meeting with other changelings he stopped using the bucket, rather he began experimenting with just being goo anywhere! no bucket required, we got shapes to try!

I was sent into increasingly hysterical laughter this morning I thought, surely, surely they wouldn’t be this dumb in writing, surely….

…Picard writers strike again!

And really, what did the bucket give us? Vindication that there was a Changeling infiltrator aboard? It was a waste of everyone’s time. (Now, imagine a deadly serious Starfleet crew doing Bucket Search every few days during the Dominion War. Hell start pranking starfleet and leave a bucket in every room on a ship you’re not on)

Now, I don’t disagree with the advancements in thirty years that might allow them to track changelings, but the dismissive “Ah they’re easy to detect” uhuh, uhuh, sure, that’s why we had Changeling paranoia and fear episodes back on DS9, and just asks Doctor Bashir’s colleagues how easy it was to spot the differences….

In conclusion, bad writing, based on poorly understood Changeling mechanics.

Who do you think would win in a fight between chev chelios and lurch

first off. you’ve come to the right place.

second. Chev fucking Chelios has the drive if it’s something personal. so let’s say Lurch has, idk. his heart, he’s getting that heart back.
