Above is a vintage photo taken in the concrete basin of the Los Angeles River showing police detectives standing near an unidentified corpse.

This is from a collection of about 2,000 photos taken by LAPD personnel between 1925 and the mid-1970s. This is a lonely end for a man, which the handwritten date tells us was today in 1955.
