God I love Brent Spiner

Looking back on the early episodes, it’s striking how much of the humour relies on finding excuses for Brent Spiner to say something wildly incongruous with a perfectly straight face. I know it’s weird to praise an actor for lack of affect, but Spiner’s impenetrable poker face carries whole scenes.

I’m still laughing at the mental image of Noonien Soong carefully bedazzling his android’s brain with pink rhinestones.

I like that when he dismantled Lore he just… took off his ass so he literally had a secret compartment with a piece of lore’s ass in it and Data found it and was like “guys…. that’s me… that’s my butt”
