And there are people who think he doesn’t love the Scouser git.

Something I just realized watching this: nano Rimmer refers to him as Listy, which indicates that the nickname doesn’t start as a hail mary attempt to maintain his rank over him in Balance of Power. So there’s affection rooted in there already.

It really is an affectionate nickname from the start, although I’m sure Rimmer doesn’t realise that. ;)
