Kasidy Yates was our the first low key, adult relationship that wasn’t alien possession, or a romance of the week, wasn’t someone made of cardboard (I’m looking at you Bareil and Shakaar), and was sweetly started by JAKE and they went into this with a bit of trepidation. It’s actually a relationship I wanted to see MORE of. I wanted to see more of Kasidy and how she got mixed up in the Maquis, more of what led to her decision that ended up in entanglement, her time away and restarting more of their first steps when she came back. Kasidy Yates wasn’t part of sisko’s crew either and could speak her mind to him. She wasn’t Jennifer either, but a whole different and fully realized person.
