Tell me why you like Dune (1984)
I enjoy what it does right
I enjoy what it does wrong
I enjoy knowing Kyle Maclachlan's shirt had fruit roll-up nipple windows
See ResultsShai-hulud.
I enjoy the right, the wrong (CGI) and full commitment to nips out men, huge eyebrows for smart guys and the part bald - huge hairdos for the ladies. It helps that Maclachlan can be imagined as both brave and a coward, a terrible villain and a tragic victim, sane and not. We never got the sequels but we did get to see the range, the duality he can carry so you can imagine him as the various stages of Paul (in increasingly sillier outfits)
I mean, everything about this movie is SO GOOD. The writing is horrible, the effects are camp, the acting is over the top, the costumes are marvelous and the casting is perfect, down to a little child whose lisp takes the very important last line of the movie and makes it something I’ve been laughing at for 25 years.
Please subject us to your backlog of dune art 🙏
ough.. just this once since I am an Alia Atreides fan first and a human being second
