Transporter Effects Day 5: Enterprise and NuTrek

Enterprise tries to mix the TNG effect with the TOS (including sounds), and while the transporter is safe for biomatter, it’s definitely in the early stages. sprinkles abound.

Star Trek 2009: Squibbly, squirrely, overly dramatic effect. Like being transported into an A-Ha video.

Star Trek Beyond: Franklin’s Enterprise-Era transporters are a bit rougher but also one of the faster ones I’ve seen.

Transporter effects day 3: 90′s Trek

The returns of sprinkles! The effect involved stirring something in a big clear container and filming it.

The TNG and DS9 effects for the Starfleet transporter remains unchanged throughout the series. I’ve included the Cardassian one as it was featured heavily in the show, and is just pretty to look at with the gold waves and swirls.

The Voyager one includes three big beads of light a reminiscent of the movie era.

William T. Riker’s command, the U.S.S. Titan, as seen in Star Trek: Lower Decks. First mentioned in Star Trek: Nemesis, the Titan became a spinoff series of Star Trek Novels, where this design debut. From Memory Beta:

When Pocket Books launched the Star Trek: Titan book series, they held a competition to design the new Luna class. The winning design by Sean Tourangeau was announced on October 6, 2005. Tourangeau then worked with artist Ellery O'Connell to develop a 3D model of the Titan, which debuted on the cover of the fourth Titan novel, Sword of Damocles.

I’d say they stayed pretty faithful to the model:

Here’s the design they submitted, which iirc was a fold out insert:
