heads up, if you’ve ever edited a paparazzi shot of a celeb delete it immediately. a lot of blogs are being terminated due to copyright with little to no warning over random images (rip harrystylesarchive) and with no real pattern as to which posts are earning strikes.

scratch that there is a pattern. if you’ve ever edited something that came from the photo agency backgrid, delete that immediately. they’re using a third party site called okularity as a reverse google image search of sorts to find photos and crack down on copyright.

Ok so some information based on my experience with copyright bullshit: all these big sites have the same nonsense, no work for them copyright policy. It’s basically if someone accuses, claims, or otherwise alleges you’ve done wrong, you’re guilty unless you can prove you’re innocent. Because that’s how it’s simple for Google or Tumblr or whoever. It puts no burden on them or the accuser and shifts it all to you. And you don’t know what to do and probably can’t prove it so, you’re screwed.

They all operate on the three strikes rule, because again, easier for them and screws you. If you get a strike against your account, it’s time to go through all the content of all your blogs. Which is maddening. And impossible. And the bitchy companies are using scripts and programs to do it 800 times faster.

Years ago I got two strikes within a year (the strikes expire after that long) and worried about my side blogs I made a totally new account and added it to all my side blogs as a full admin. This in the hopes if my account got nuked, maybe the side blogs wouldn’t be, and I’d get to keep them through that. I don’t know if this works, because I avoided a third strike. But if you’re worried, try it. It might save your side blogs at least.
