maaan it would’ve been so cool if voyager had given us a bit of time to sit with its characters after their return to the alpha quadrant and see both their reactions to the post-dominion war federation and vice versa. like how does this society that’s been ravaged by a war with a race of super advanced shape changers react to this ship that’s shown up miraculously after being presumed dead for so long? surely there’s some level of public mistrust and fear towards them, especially considering their borg and maquis crew members

you know section 31 has a list of potential ways in which voyager could pose a threat. they could be a trojan horse sent by the changelings. or the borg. or some other horror from the depths of space completely unknown to the federation. and voyager’s crew has to spend the rest of their lives proving that they aren’t! always afraid that their loved ones don’t believe them when they say they are who they are!

loooolyeah the voyager ending was the most frustrating one - until enterpriseand it was par for the course for the show that had little regard for how storytelling workedand I can't hold this against the show but it took until the destiny novels for the voyager novels to really come closer to something appro
