Raise the Titanic (1980)

Coffee clubbers -
I tried to emphasize safety and comfort in any encouragement I gave you all to get outdoors for today’s theme (though that was certainly not the theme, which you all encapsulated perfectly), but I’ll admit, for the first time, I almost got caught. Not long after I snuck this silhouette, a car came ambling down the gravel road I was taking pictures near. I’ve never gotten dressed as quickly as I did in that moment. I’m so glad I captured this to share with you all.
I have mentioned before - I have found my escape not only in being outdoors in general, but also in my photography. I often find myself limited taking photos indoors - both by location and by lighting. Always partial to natural lighting, I’ve done some ridiculous shoots (some of the snow photos in tcs, anyone? brr) simply to avoid having to work with artificial light. This was no exception. But what started as an experiment in seeing myself has turned into something new. I feel like a completely different when I leave my pose, feet back on the ground, and look at myself in the camera. It is quite literally almost an out-of-body experience for me - seeing myself as someone else may have in that captured moment. I no longer find myself confined by my own mind.
Thank you all, again, for joining me today. I hope the theme pushed you to explore new things, find new places, look both inwards as well as outwards, and discover what escape really is to you. We all need our place to run to - I know I do.
Big thank you to Stanimal for giving me the opportunity to share today with you all. I hope to be back sometime soon!
Love always,
