Saavik and Valeris are two of my favourite minor characters. Originally Saavik was to be the traitor in ‘The Undiscovered Country’ but Gene Roddenberry was concerned how fans would react, and Kirstie Alley and Robin Curtis had both declined to return.

… anyway saavik is promoted to captain and makes her life long friend joanna her cmo and then they slowly fall in love over the years and if anyone wanted to write this i would possibly drop dead
