seska is the funniest character ever created bc she is so mad all the time about other ppl betraying the maquis when she was very much a spy. she’s like “me and the maquis crew you betrayed” to tuvok and while she is right that tuvok was there spying on the maquis she leaves out the extremely crucial that she was also there spying on the maquis

seska could have been so cool i resent that they reduced her to a femme fatale thing because she is COMPLETELY underutilised both as a villain and also just as a character. we have a whip smart obsidian order operative, a cardassian disguised with the face of a bajoran, sent on a solo mission to infiltrate the maquis. she builds up fake relationships with b’elanna and chakotay for over a year. she gets trapped in the delta quadrant, she despises the federation and pretty much everyone around her, she has years of obsidian order training to fall back on…. i really don’t think she’d need the kazon’s help to take over the ship or make the voyager crew’s lives hell.

and what if she could even be capable of redemption somehow? those “fake” relationships with b’elanna, chakotay, and the other maquis—are they really that fake? what if, on some level and very much against her will, she actually had grown attached to them? and she finds herself caught between her loyalty to cardassia and her mission for the order and wanting off the ship, and the horribly irritating prospect that she might actually care about her crewmates and doesn’t actually want to see them hurt? i know she says something to that extent, but what if it meant more? maybe she ends up making the right choice. maybe she makes the wrong one.

there is so much lost potential with seska it hurts.
