What’s interesting to note is that although Snowpiercer was only released in 8 theatres the average was close to Transformer’s. 22 Jump Street, the #2 in the slot and out 3 weeks made 15 million this week which translates to an average of $4,500 per movie theatre.
Now of course I’m not a statistician, hell I’m not even good with numbers! But based on a limited release there seems to be an audience for Snowpiercer. That it made so much against a Transformers weekend is pretty impressive. One wonders what the numbers would have looked like with a wider release.
