This was both brilliant and touch unnecessary - there’s no reason for Slade to show himself to Oliver via his family but he wants Oliver to know and in one moment everything crystalizes. 

I thought this whole exchange was so well done. Everyone knew Arrow couldn’t keep his secret from Roy for long once he started directly training him. But Queen’s the one who got through Roy, not his Arrow persona. And Roy finally got to thank him for saving him.
