they did, but like someone pointed out earlier they were less than 1% of the population, and their history with the suffrage movement in England is NOT the same as the black women who worked for suffrage in America. you can’t conflate the history of two countries and bring unsubstantiated outrage about a movie that tells the story of ENGLAND’S suffrage movement in a way that has never been told, that was impeccably researched and that tells a part of history that is still not even taught in England today.
Would I like to see a movie about the Deltas and their work for US suffrage? FUCK YES I WOULD. Will we ever see a movie like that greenlit if movies like it get boycotted because they’re telling a different, yet equally untold history? NO WE WILL NOT.
