The lines in the novel which I had hoped he would’ve said on screen. But nonetheless his role in the film is phenomenal that I dare say he stole the entire movie with his brilliant acting as an extremely capable and intelligent Soviet Submarine Captain, Marko Ramius, who had lost his wife many years ago due to the negligence of a doctor who was later spared, excused and covered by the communist party of Soviet Union simply because he is the son of an important soviet political officer. And Ramius has ever since damned the government, spent most of his time at sea while scheming about defecting the newly prized silent propulsion submarine over to the United States of America in a bid to spit in the face of Mother Russia. A great film based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Tom Clancy, the man who inspired the games of Rainbow Six, Division, Ghost Recon and more. If you love the movie, you will love the novel even more and I’m impressed by Sean Connery’s performance in brining the character to life so effortlessly and beautifully, capturing the essence and persona of the character. I’ve watched several of his films and this is still my favorite of them all up to this day that I never grew tired of watching over and over again. RIP Sean Connery.
