Yes, “Threshold” (S02E16, Stardate 49373.4) really is that bad. It starts with an interesting premise and takes it down the worst possible path it can. Humans will evolve into salamanders. Tom pushed because he is overly insecure. Janeway let him push her around. Remove it and Voyager misses nothing.
I started my episode poster inside Tom’s shuttle cockpit, but I wasn’t feeling the weight of being lost at Warp 10. So I went outside and I like that better.
