Ties are weird and useless

Ohohoho I can’t believe this random knowledge of mine actually comes in useful!! Ties are leftover from when merchants & such would use fabric tied around their necks to distinguish who they worked for/with and where they stood socially, these ‘ties’ eventually evolving into a sign of status via King Louis XIV of France

So basically it’s all the French’s fault
